Rosie: our next guest is a very funny young man
we all know from his roles in such movies as happy gilmore, billy madison,
the wedding singer This friday he takes on a whole new set of challenges
in his new motion picture The Water Boy. This guy cracks me up take a look.

Adam: Hi Rosie (to

Rosie: How's it going
Adam : Good,. That was nice, I watched those
two little kids ( reffering toJohn Melloncamps
boys) they were funny
rosie: aren't they cute
Adam : oh my god , jumping , turning around
not looking at him. Im like that too. I like to be that way were
I could face that way
Rosie; yeah well any time during the interview
you feel like that go right ahead I will keep going I will cover for you
Adam: Thank you
Rosie: You look very fit
Adam: oh yeah.
Rosie: yeah
Adam: I aint fit. I'm
goofy looking but I got a I mean I have been
doing that uh you know that protein diet. they talk about I've been
doing the protein diet
Rosie: oh really that no carbo think
Adam: yeah
Rosie: yeah
Adam: They tell you not to eat the potatoes,
pasta or the bread.
Rosie: right
Adam: I eat that stuff alot so uh
to ease the situation for myself what I do is I
eat
Rosie: does it work good for you.
Adam: na na, I'm still fat. all right you just
don't want to touch me but a
Rosie: I like your new hair cute
Adam:: yeah you do its like those
little kids
Rosie: yeah very short there like
that little crew thing going on
Adam: it is I m goofy it doesn't matter
how you cute my hair Im still gonna look goofy
Rosie: No !the girls love you .how's your
social life?
Adam: I wanna , after I seen these
two, I wanna have a baby.
Rosie: do you wanna have a baby?
Adam: I do I wanna have a least one person
that I am smarter then in my family so I want a little kid

Rosie: they grow up though
Adam: yeah
Rosie: three years old they know more
then you. its scary I got two a 3 and 1 year old
Adam: I know .........that's nice

throws me for a loop
Adam: your a good lady
Rosie : well you know, I enjoy
the kids
Adam: you should enjoy the kids you
take care of the kids you do the right thing for them me I
curse
Rosie: well remember my stand up days I've
been known to curse too.
Adam: you curse in those days. you
threw all the curing out the window. me in still cursing up a storm
Rosie: yeah. in your movies. alot
of cursing going on in the water boy
Adam: no cursing in that movie Its a nice
movie. It a sweet Henry Winkler in the movie
Adam: Henry Winkler , a good
man you know . I grew up worshiping that guy like everyone's growing
up worshiping you. I got the ,you know , he was the Fonz .I loved the Fonz
growing up
Rosie :sure
Adam: I didn't want to say it
to him ' hey your the Fonz ' I wanted to leave him alone but
I would kind of trick him into saying Fonzy kind of things
you know, I'd see a chair and I'd say look at that chair
. I 'm going to stand on it. he said. sit on it.I'd go hey
hey
Rosie :did he catch on
Adam: he did .he did
when I, a horse goes by and I'd say . how do you stop a horse
and he'd said you say whoa ( it sounded
like Fonzy)
Rosie: Kathy Bates is in this movie
Adam: yes, kathy bates is a very nice
lady she plays my mom in the movie. The movie is about a kid, he's this
grown man and him mom is very over protective. he doesn't have any friends.
he's a water boy on a team and he gets messed with alot and
whatever, he just wants some friends kathy bates does a great job
playing my mom and my mom in real life the reason
I kind wrote the movie i have an over protective mom in real life
she's the greatest lady but she's very over protective and uh . when
i was a kid we had to where a helmet to answer the phone because
Rosie: cause you never know
Adam: you never know .I had to wear
a cup. when I brushed my teethe cause the up and down
you might hit something
Rosie: were
you intimidated. Kathy Bates academy awards. winner was it a little
nerve racking for you.
Adam: it wasn't she was
very nice to me but her oscar would mock me sometimes. ah, you comedians
are stupid the oscar would say but i got my punt pass and kick
trophy top beat the oscars head in one day no one knows what a punt pass
and kick trophy is why the hell would I say it
Rosie: yeah I think I
know what it is
Adam: its something I won when i was
a kid and im very proud of it so,
Rosie: I understand. I do
Adam: yeah , they did me that was funny
Rosie: they did you, you
used to be on the cast and now you are a big movie star and now they are
parading you was that a big moment for you
Adam: it was pretty damn funny,. yeah
that kid's funny I liked it that kid Jimmy's
a funny kid I met him ,I knew him a long time he's a
hungry boy he s gonna do well and it was fun to see me and
and see him do the way I move like a moron and i liked it
Rosie: where you at home
did you have any idea it was going to be on your just watching and
Adam: they called me up and told me
it was going to be on. my buddies told me that i laughed
i was with my friends and i laughed You know I got my calls from
my NH friends Sandler want us to kick that kids ass i was like
its all right its all right
Rosie: that were you grew up in new Hampshire
Adam: yeah im a new Hampshire boy
Rosie :who were your comedy
role models when you were a kid
Adam: Rodney Dangerfield
Rosie: Rodney Dangerfield
Adam: I worshiped rodney when he would
come into catch a rising star i was the most excited to see rodney,
coming in in the bathrobe
Rosie: I remember that
Rosie: yep .with a coffee cup usually
Adam: He was always so, he was
he was my biggest idolized that guy I used to jokes for
my dad I'd do Rodney jokes all the time he's probably
him and abbot and Costello and jerry Lewis and
Rosie: where you a good student? what kind
of kid where you
Adam: I used to fake sick alot I was I used
to get sick on purpose like I would want to be home cause
I missed my mom you know so id be I liked to be sick I'd be
happy when Ii was sick "Whoa I get to stay home with mommy"
my mom would always tell me when i was sick. drink liquids e drink liquids
and i think she right cause every time I tried to drink a solid I
would choke. I drank piece of steak and
Rosie: didn't work out to good
Adam: no
Rosie: Well, good luck with this film
I haven't seen it but im gonna go see it cause your movies crack me up
Adam: Thanks Rosie

Rosie: sort of funny and quirky and weird
and unique its only you that you and I love to watch it so thank
