Adam Sandler made the successful transition from Saturday Night Live to the big screen with a string of hit films such as Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, and Bulletproof. His other film credits include Mixed Nuts and Airheads. He will next star in The Waterboy, opposite Kathy Bates and Fairuza Balk. During breaks from his filming schedule, Sandler made two Grammy-nominated comedy albums, which have sold over three million copies to date. In 1996, he embarked on a 21-city comedy/rock tour which was showcased in a popular HBO special. His third album, What's Your Name?, was released last fall. In addition to his acting credits, Sandler is a talented writer. He shared screenwriting credit for Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, and the upcoming The Waterboy with Saturday Night Live's head writer Tim Herlihy. The Wedding Singer co-stars the lovely and talented Drew Barrymore, and stars Sandler as the a good time... until he gets left at the altar of his own wedding. This transforms him into a the perfect day. Luckily Drew Barrymore is there to help put him back on track. MTVRock: Let's get into the questions... Adam Sandler: Billy Madison was the first one that I really got to get creatively involved, so that will always be my baby. Can stay up late. Can listen to me and not yawn. And just plain old-fashioned cool as hell. MTVRock: KimberlyA asks: Question: Any comments on Chris Farley's death? Adam Sandler: I'm still in shock. He was THE man. He could make me laugh harder than anyone ever made me laugh in my life. And I know that goes for anyone else who knew him. I loved him like a brother, and I will always think of him. I know right now he's making Ben Franklin, Judy Garland and Jimmy Morrison laugh their asses off. MTVRock: Ano1881 asks about your current flick: Question: How did you get the part as the Wedding Singer? Adam Sandler: I was roommates with the writer. And I'm much bigger than him. The only problem is, every time I'm on a golf course now people expect me to drive the ball 400 yards or punch somebody. Adam Sandler: Take lessons from my grandmother. She's friends with Lorne and she'll put in a good word. There's talk of her joining my Aunt Faye's band, but apparently she doesn't like potato knishes, so there's some conflict going on. Adam Sandler: Me and Ian Maxtone-Graham were hanging out late at Saturday Night Live and we wanted to write a love song about some inanimate object and then we stumbled upon the sweatshirt. And yes, I do have a red hooded sweatshirt and I do put my hands in its kangaroo pouch. MTVRock: Gods 1 bo asks: Question: So what was your fave CD and when can we expect another?
